Without a new generation of visionaries, willing to think outside of the box and drive innovation, we will squander the progress we have made, until Fairfax goes the route of the overtaxed, overregulated and overwhelmed localities we see in places like Maryland, New York, and California.
For too long, Fairfax County residents have stood by as the Board of Supervisors, in the hands of Democrats like Gerry Connolly for almost two decades; have exploited their positions for the sole purpose of accumulating power. From massive budget expansion to wasted surpluses gained from seven years of outrageous real estate tax increases, the Fairfax County budget has ballooned from a general fund in 2001 of $2.135 Billion to that of 2011 at $3.319 Billion, half as much again in 10 years – and larger than four states.
Our county spends more than four states do!
The current majority on the Board of Supervisors has a spending problem, a lack of understanding of what it takes to create jobs and economic opportunity and they haven’t provided the visionary leadership that Fairfax County must have to continue to attract world class corporations. Without a vibrant corporate community, our residents are left holding the bag. If we are to continue to follow leaders with no vision for growth and development, our children and grandchildren will inherit a Fairfax County that is a mere shadow of what it once was and what it could be.
Join me and together we can put Fairfax back on course and begin to reach to new heights as an example to the nation and as a community that we can continue to be proud of. As a small business owner and, more importantly, as a father, I know how the actions taken by our elected leaders can affect our everyday lives. It is critical that we have representatives on the Board who can translate their principles into solving the everyday issues that affect all of us.
I believe I am one of those people and I want to earn your trust, your respect, and your vote.
