Spike Williams

Spike Williams

Michael “Spike” Williams is a candidate for Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. As a native Fairfax resident, small business owner, and father, Michael knows and understands the challenges and difficulties families face in today’s economic environment.

Growing up in Fairfax County,  Spike  was raised by his mother, a single parent, who at times had to turn to public assistance to make ends meet for their family. From these humble beginnings,  Spike  worked hard and is today a successful businessman and small business owner. He began his career with a Fairfax-based technology company and moved on to a number of different leadership positions, including serving as Chief Technology Officer for a St. Louis-based company. After the dotcom bubble burst,  Spike  began transitioning to his current careers in project management and real estate.

He currently works as a Project Manager for Orange Business Services, a multinational corporation with offices in the Dulles Technology Corridor. In addition to his work with Orange Business Services,  Spike  is a realtor, having started a successful real estate brokerage, Williams Realty, which he operates with his wife Julie.

With his extensive experience in the technology and real estate fields, his experience in handling the effects of a down economy on his family, and his willingness to strike out on his own and start his own business,  Spike possesses the unique mix of qualifications and characteristics that are needed at the helm of the Fairfax County Board – self-reliance, responsibility, and perseverance.

Spike is also active in his community, volunteering countless hours as a Fairfax County Youth Sports Parent Volunteer, a Grace Art Volunteer, and  has served    as President of his Homeowners’ Association. He is a member of the Fairfax County Republican Committee, where he has served as Hunter Mill District Chair for the last 3 years. He also served as Bob McDonnell’s Hunter Mill coordinator during the Governor’s successful run in 2009.

Spike   currently resides in Oak Hill with his wife and has three children : step-sons Chris, who graduated last year from Liberty University and has started his own  landscaping  irrigation company , Steve who is serving as a Ranger in the US Army and daughter, Nora, who is an 8th grade student attending FCPS. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and his dog and two horses.
